Blood meal is used as a nitrogen amendment. It is the fastest-releasing dry amendment available. It also have the highest Nitrogen levels of any organic amendment. Because it's made of blood, it also has very high levels of iron.

Blood meal is a great amendment for topdressing when you need a fast-acting source of nitrogen. It's also a great amendment to use for nitrogen when trying to build iron levels in your soil without the use of Iron sulfate.
