Magnesium sulfate (a.k.a Epsom salt) is an inexpensive, soluble source of magnesium. It's sometimes used as a pre-plant amendment (although usually langbeinite is used to fulfill the Mg deficit). More often it is used as a foliar spray when Mg is needed.

We suggest always having Epsom salt on hand as it's the fastest way to correct a magnesium deficiency via foliar. We suggest 2-3 tsp/gal of water in foliar.

Epsom salt is known to "green up" plants when magnesium is low. We suggest first foliar applying Epsom salt to see if there is a visual plant response. If there is, consider a soil drench.
